The History of Black Catholics in the United States
Reverend Cyprian Davis, O.S.B. is Professor of Church History at St. Meinrad School of Theology in St. Meinrad, Indiana. He received his B.A. from St. Meinrad College in 1953 and Ph.D. in History from University of Louvain in 1977. He also holds an S.T.L. from Catholic University of America. In 2001, Fr. Davis was awarded an honorary degree from University of Notre Dame for his contributions to our understanding of Black Catholic history.
