Historically, the African-American community has experienced centuries of incidents of racism within the Holy Catholic Church. As such the initial work of the task force was focused on listening sessions with black Catholics only, but through the listening session process the feedback clearly  was to broaden the focus to other groups. 
The Angelus News has chronicled the evolution of pilot parishes and schools who are creating opportunities to educate, inspire and open wide the hearts of our community through ministry. One of the initiatives that the task force submitted to Archbishop Gomez included the development of this website to provide resources to help parishes to develop their own ministries.
